If you are someone just starting out in song and you feel a little confused about how to start, where to start and what to do to learn to sing. I want to show you what I’ve learned after twenty years of experience in singing and that you can learn by just reading the lines that follow.
For a long time I settled exercising without knowing they served, how and how often do to see results. Although many of them helped me in my way of singing I think they have taken more out knowing his role in my vocal apparatus.
I am one who believes that all learning must be measurable systems and processes with which we can evaluate our process and measure our results. That is what I have tried to define and that is what I will show you.
I want to emphasize that I am not trying to impose a theory, this is just a system that has served to me and it will serve you as well because the results are real.
In my experience I have seen that you can learn to sing systematically dividing the process into four major study areas. The first is the basic area where you work posture, breathing and support. Now I have some of my articles as much Lili where we talk about these issues separately. (You can find them on the main page of this blog).
After the basic area you must work to strengthen your vocal cords. For this phase there are specific exercises like phonemes with the mouth closed and others that involve tongue movements as tremolos lips and tongue. The most famous is the tremolo lip that is to make your lips vibrate emulating the sound of a motorcycle.
Once you’ve worked your breathing and your cords and strengthened these half in your process of learning to sing. Now here you can then start working your pitch. For this area, the best way to achieve phenomenal results is the study of the scales in all forms. Always starting with the diatonic scale of C major or that is the basis of all the others.
Finally after vocal apparatus to work in all these areas it is time to focus on developing your style. This involves finding and perfect to reach your identity as a singer.
As a tip I can tell you that if you are a beginner you have to work all these areas and in this order. Now, if your case is that you are an advanced singer who already know your voice and mastered. Then you can work the area where you have a specific need.
